THE ANNUAL IRISH Film and Television Awards (IFTAs) took place on Saturday in the Mansion House in Dublin, with all sorts of Irish stars turning out to celebrate the year in TV and film.
A Date For Mad Mary scooped Best Film, while Richie Smyth won Best Director for Netflix’s The Siege of Jadotville.
But before that, there was the red carpet – they had the attendees stand on a wee podium, for reasons we’re sure will be divulged during the broadcast on RTÉ One tomorrow:
For now, though, let’s be content with looking at all the frocks from the night.
Here’s a better look at Amy Huberman’s fab vintage gúna
She won Best Leading Actress for the very enjoyable Striking Out, and brought her brother as her date. Cute.
Colm Meaney looked Colm Nice-y
We’re sure he’s sick of those jokes by now. Sorry Colm.
Lisa Cannon brought the va-va-voom in red
Stunnin’ hun.
While Mattress Mick also went for some scarlet flourishes
Though he kept his signature hair and pose, of course.
Here’s Miriam looking like a million dollars
When does she not, in fairness.
And James Nesbitt looking spiffy in a tux
Charlie Murphy did retro glamour
She picked up Best Supporting Actress in a Drama for her role in BBC’s Happy Valley.
Dancing With The Stars’ Denise McCormack was gorgeous in ivory lace
The Siege of Jadotville actor Jason O’Mara had the shiniest shoes
And Aoibhinn McGinnity survived a drive-by dress cutting
She’s fine now TG.
A Date For Mad Mary actress Charleigh Bailey was a vision in pink
Charleigh won Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film.
Her co-star Seána Kerslake went for florals
Rebellion star Ruth Bradley supported Irish designer Joanne Hynes
And host Deirdre O’Kane was sleek in black and light pink
Gorge.
For all the action from the ceremony, tune in to RTÉ One tomorrow evening at 10.15pm.
