OVER THE WEEKEND, President Trump went on his first overseas trip to Riyadh, Saudia Arabia, delivering a speech on terrorism and human rights to the country’s leaders.
However, what caught everyone’s attention back home was this photo, in which Trump places his hands on a mysterious glowing orb. Yes, an orb.
The Huffington Post reports that Trump was attending the opening of the Global Centre for Combating Extremist Ideology, alongside the King of Saudi Arabia and the Egyptian President.
The leaders placed their hands on the orb (an illuminated globe) as “a gesture of their combined commitment to ending terrorism”. It looks slightly less malevolent here.
Still, it made people feel… uneasy.
Is the orb really what it seems? Is Trump now in thrall to the orb and everything it desires? Is this the end of the world as we know it?
