SEVEN-YEAR-OLD Cathal Byrne is obsessed with the Irish soccer team.
Recently, he was brought into the Aviva stadium under the illusion that he was just getting a tour around the stadium and getting to see areas he wouldn’t as a regular fan.
But it turned out to be much better than that
At the start of the video, we find out from Cathal’s mam that he lives with a co-ordination disorder known as dyspraxia
When he’s brought into the press room by Three, he gets asked who his favourite player is
And he had no hesitation in naming goalie Darren Randolph
Who was waiting outside, listening to all this going on
And then when he entered the room, Cathal caught a glimpse of the door opening on his right hand side
And look at his face when he realised who it was
And Randolph could see it on his face
Yes, he certainly was
For their whole chat you could see that Cathal was shook
And then there was another surprise on top
YES.
He’s going to be Ireland’s mascot at their next match, as well as getting to meet his hero.
Then they showed us a shot of Cathal watching the team train <3
What a day for him.
