YOU MIGHT HAVE noticed that it’s warm out at the moment. Very warm.
There’s no one we feel more sorry for in these times than men who are required to wear suits to work, while women can wear dresses and skirts.
One brave soldier named Joey from Buckinghamshire decided to switch things up a little in the heatwave by wearing a pair of smart shorts to work:
However, he was quickly sent home to change into something more “appropriate” for the workplace.
When he got there, he had an idea: Why couldn’t he wear a cool, flowy dress like the women in the office? One which was completely in line with the dress code?
As you might expect, this was a bridge too far for his employers – so they backed down and enacted a new policy allowing male employees to wear 3/4 length shorts (in black, navy or beige only).
Despite his ‘partial win’ he decided to defiantly wear the dress for the rest of the day:
They said it was a bit too colourful and asked if I wanted to go home and change, because they were letting us wear shorts because of my ‘protest’.
I said I was happy to stay.
Joey’s mission has gone viral on Twitter – so don’t be surprised if dozens of similar ‘protests’ start springing up in offices across the UK and Ireland. #COOLSHORTSFORHOTMEN2017
