A camel held up traffic in Kerry while people were trying to make their way up to the Mayo v Kerry match

Never mind seagulls. Ireland may have a camel problem on its hands.

AT THIS STAGE we shouldn’t even be surprised by strange things blocking Irish roads.

Two years ago we had a giant inflatable Minion blocking the Swords Road outside of Omni Shopping Centre. The same year we had a Llama minding it’s own business in Rahan Offaly.

Now, the latest non-vehicular object of interest on Irish roads is a camel.

Killian Burns spotted the loose camel and shared it to his Twitter account with the caption “There isn’t a man, woman, child or animal left in Kerry for the #KerryvMayo match except of course this camel.”

It’s likely that the camel was briefly residing in Kerry ahead of Courtney’s DareDevil Circus.

It’s definitely not the first time a stray camel has been spotting strolling around Ireland.

They’ve been casually trotting around Limerick.

They’ve been seen knocking around Belmullet, Mayo.

And it appears that this isn’t the first time that a camel has been enjoying the Kingdom.

Last year Radio Kerry listener Sue Car saw this camel wandering around.

Are camels a sign of good luck?
