People are losing it because Gemma Collins pronounced the word 'memes' incorrectly

How do you pronounce it? ‘Meems’? Or as Gemma put it, ‘memays’?

AS THE SUBJECT of many, many memes… You’d think Gemma Collins would have been told how to pronounce the word ‘meme’ by now.

She hasn’t.

In a video discussing some of her most memorable outfits, Gemma defended her infamous shoulder pad dress.

Despite criticism and mockery – people were telling her she looked like an American football player – Collins said she was a fan of Dynasty back in the day and liked the shoulder pads.

She even added that she loved the ‘memays’ people made after seeing the dress.

She added:

NFL if you’re watching this and you want a new player, I’m your girl.

Fair play for standing by your outfit choice and not letting comments get to you… But it is 2017. How has she made it this far without learning how to pronounce the word ‘meme’?

Or is she trying to make this become a meme too? Is the viral sensation more calculative than we realise? Is every ridiculous move planned in anticipation of becoming a meme?

Naturally, it was the only thing people picked up on after watching an entire video of her discussing her favourite outfits.

Honestly, it’s just as well the video was subtitled. We may not have ever realised what she was talking about otherwise.

The pronunciation of the word may completely change now as people ironically adapt to the Gemma Collins version.

It’s 2017 folks. ‘Meem’ is dead. It’s ‘mem-ay’ now.

It’s a wonder this didn’t happen sooner.
