One of the Cabra girls on Gogglebox thought that Margaret Thatcher was Mary Robinson
Whoops!

THERE WERE A few highlights in last night’s Gogglebox.
The gang watched some questionable Karaoke on The Late Late Show, an adorable pug called Betty Boop going for an operation and gave their opinions on Lucy Kennedy’s time spent with Michael Healy-Rae.
Perhaps the funniest moment of all was when the groups were shown the new George Michael documentary, Freedom.
Tracey Emin was interviewed as a part of the documentary and said “The 1980s was one of the most depressing and demoralising times that we’ve ever had for young people in British history.”
Then came a montage of police battering protesters and a photo of Margaret Thatcher.

Ashley, one of the Cabra girls, commented “Ah, Mary Robinson” when the image of Thatcher appeared on the screen. Her mates were like “…What?”
She asked “Was that not Mary Robinson?” and they broke out laughing while she insisted “It was Mary Robinson!” They told her it was Margaret Thatcher and she refused to believe them.
They asked why would they be showing Mary Robinson on a documentary about England and Ashley still maintained that she definitely did not see Margaret Thatcher on that screen.
People were very entertained by Ashley’s unfortunate mistake.

She later took to Twitter to apologise and tell everyone she’s heading to Specsavers.

It was good entertainment, but maybe next week Gogglebox should make the girls watch a history documentary.
