Weakest Link Celebrity Special for Children in Need (BBC Two, 10pm)

The Weakest Link was (sadly) cancelled in 2011, but Anne Robinson returns tonight for a celebrity edition of the show to raise money for Children in Need. The lineup includes Love Island winner Kem Cetinay, John Thomson, chef Rosemary Shrager, actress Chizzy Akudolu, and columnist Giles Coren. It’ll be presented by Rylan Clark-Neal and Maya Jama. The contestants are competing for £15,000 to donate to the charity.

Reformation: The Story of Martin Luther (RTÉ 2, 9.40pm)

Historian David Starkey looks at the fundamentalist beliefs, terror and holy war that were unleashed across Europe during the Protestant Reformation, coinciding with the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther nailing his 95 Theses to the door of All Saint’s Church in Wittenberg. Starkey looks at the growth and spread of Luther’s ideas around Europe and Britain over the last 500 years.

Food Unwrapped: Supermarket Special (Channel 4, 8pm)

The team investigate why the price of supermarket foods has risen so much over the last year. As well as this, they’ll be examining the many products that are falling victim to ‘shrinkflation’, where they shrink in size but remain the same price. They also reveal how technology can help customers stay ahead of supermarket pricing.

Everybody’s talking about… a new family that are set to join Eastenders

Masood returns to the Square for the first time in a year, bringing his aunt and uncle Mariam and Arshad with him. The pair, who have lived in London for most of their lives, will rent his old house when they arrive in the New Year. They have no idea how dramatic their new neighbourhood is going to be.

• The Kyle Files (3e, 8pm) Jeremy Kyle looks at Britain’s obesity crisis, lifting the lid on the growth of competitive eating in the UK.
• Unreported World (Channel 4, 7.30pm) A foreign affairs documentary series examining the treatment of young Aboriginal prisoners in Australia.
