Many viewers appreciated Rebekah and Iain's candid discussion about mental health on last night's I'm A Celeb

ON LAST NIGHT’S episode of I’m A Celeb, Iain Lee and Rebekah Vardy opened up about the struggles they’ve faced with their mental health in the past.
The conversation began when broadcaster Iain Lee began to discuss some of the callers he speaks to on radio, who often chat about their mental health and struggles with depression.

Iain admitted that he had also had suicidal thoughts in the past, telling the other celebs “I’m not proud that my head went that way, but it’s not a weakness.”

Rebekah, who is a mother to four children, was not ashamed to discuss a suicide attempt she made when she was just 14. Iain was shocked, saying although he knows it’s extremely common, it breaks his heart to think of a 14-year-old considering taking their own life.
Vardy said that the issue was ‘brushed under the carpet’ back then, which led her to make some very bad decisions later in life. Eventually she learned that you can’t run from your issues forever, when she began to suffer with post-natal depression after the birth of her second child.
She went into detail about what she had to do to overcome her issues with mental health:
The fact that this is a conversation that can be casually had on television shows the huge progress that has been made in the last decade or so. Fans recognised this and took to Twitter to thank ITV for not editing the conversation out.
