The TV ad for Noel Gallagher's new album features a one-star review from an Irish journalist

He must have taken it to heart.

NOEL GALLAGHER HAS been up to some pretty strange stuff lately.

From adding a scissors player to his band, to reaching out to Big Shaq (the mastermind behind the extremely viral ‘MANS NOT HOT’) to ask if he would support him on tour, to blasting Jeremy Corbyn. He has even gone down the Brian McFadden route and suggested that he could beat ISIS.

Does Noel even care anymore? Is everything just a joke to him now?

Possibly. His new album with his band Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds entitled ‘Who Built the Moon?’ (Is he a conspiracy nut too?) was released on the 24th of November and not all of the reviews were great. The Irish Times tore the album to shreds, describing it as a ‘pub band going through the motions’.

Ian Maleney, the man behind the review, also described it as ‘a dried up oasis of dross’. Gallagher responded to the criticism on Instagram, sharing a screenshot of the review and writing “That’s me told then!!”

However, this comment appears to have stuck with Noel, because he put it in the new television ad for Who Built the Moon?

A fan from the UK spotted it while he was watching TV and shared photos on Twitter.

The first review, from The Sun, described the album as “…Perhaps his best ever”. NME said that it was “Noel’s best album since What’s the Story Morning Glory?”

Finally, the ad features The Irish Times review which describes it as ‘…A dried up oasis of dross.”

Fans thought this was an accident at first, but many quickly remembered the review he had shared to his Instagram.
