WHEN IT COMES to gifts, things probably get a little bit competitive in Hollywood every time someone has a baby.

People in Hollywood who have just become parents are probably up to their eyes in fruit baskets and bouquets of flowers. Not from Oprah, though. Oprah goes a little bit further than bouquets, as Mindy Kaling has just informed the world.

Speaking to USA Today, Kaling described what happened:

I got a call from my assistant. She said ‘Oprah’s assistant contacted me, she’d like to drop off a present.’ I’m thinking, that’s so nice! Like, probably flowers. I had a kid. I’m a single mom. That’s really nice Oprah remembered.

Then, all of a sudden two men showed up at her house with a U-Haul truck. This story is ten times better if you imagine how Kelly from The Office would react to this situation. A U-Haul truck from Oprah. Imagine.

Kaling continued:

All you want in life is to hear that two men in a U-Haul truck are coming to your house because Oprah sent them. I was supposed to go to work that day, but I was like. I gotta be here.

The men arrived with “a hand-carved bookcase, prettier than any professional dollhouse you had ever seen”. Not only that, but “it contained a hundred of the classic essential books in children’s literature.”

I held my baby up to it and I said, ‘Did you see what Miss Winfrey did for you?!’

Every book is customised for Mindy’s baby Katherine. They each say ‘Katherine’s Book Club’ on them. Oprah, as modest as ever interrupted Kaling’s story during the interview that took place to promote their new movie A Wrinkle in Time, and said “It wasn’t as perfect as I wanted it to be.”

Ah, we’re sure she doesn’t mind.
