Love Island viewers have a totally different view on Alex after last night's drama
ITV ITV
WHEN LOVE ISLAND kicked off this year, viewers were really rooting for Alex George, a 27-year-old doctor who was completely out of place in the house among Instagram models and the children of celebrities.
None of the original Love Island contestants were interested in coupling up with Alex, so he ended up with Samira, who was in a pretty similar situation to the doctor.

As the series continued, all of the male housemates rallied around Alex to help him find love in the villa, and they were met with failure after failure. Meanwhile, Samira was just chilling, not expecting any help from her fellow housemates, and enjoying the free holiday while waiting for the right person to come in.
It didn’t take long for viewers to notice that Samira and Alex were being treated very differently. This was mainly because Samira didn’t mope around the villa all day, complaining about not being chosen.
Eventually, Ellie came into the villa.

Ellie had seen the show before she entered the house, so she made it clear that she was *vaguely* attracted to Alex. With the help of a panel of housemates teaching him how to kiss a girl, Alex managed to shift Ellie, and after that he became pretty attached to her.

As their relationship went on, it was pretty clear to viewers that she wasn’t feeling it as much as he was, however, Alex couldn’t (or, refused not to) notice this.
So, Ellie did the right thing. Once the drama of last week’s recoupling was over, she made an effort to tell Alex that she wasn’t really into him anymore, and that she feared she was leading him on.
She told him that just because they can hold a conversation doesn’t mean that they’re perfectly suited to each other.
Alex wasn’t having a bar of that. He quickly became very frustrated and angry.
Ellie replied “I wasn’t sure, and I told you that.” Look Alex, let’s not pretend that Samira didn’t warn you that this exact situation would arise.
Alex insisted that Ellie had made no effort, and she repeatedly told him that she was “uncomfortable” the first night when they went to bed together, and she knew from that point on it wasn’t going to work. She added:
At this point, many viewers lost all sympathy they ever had towards Alex.
