Bride & Prejudice (Channel 4, 9pm)
This series meets numerous couples who are facing hostility from their families ahead of their weddings for various reasons. Tonight, the family of 20-year-old Shane from Warrenpoint in Co. Down wants to propose to his 37-year-old girlfriend, Elaine. Elaine’s family are totally against their relationship, because of the massive age gap between the pair of them. In the town of Aldershot in Hampshire, 20-year-old Chloe is marrying her 21-year-old partner Jack, and her mother’s really not on board with it.
Irish in Wonderland (RTÉ 2, 9.30pm)
Sherlock actress Yasmine Akram meets Irish people who are making a fortune across the world by working for the super-rich. Akram meets and an Irish artist who has a pretty impressive client list, including Prince Albert of Monaco. She’ll also have a chat with a former Fair City actress, who is now working as a personal trainer.
Myrtle Allen: A Life in Food (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)
Documentary looking at the life and career of chef Myrtle Allen. This hour-long special will take a look at the influence she has had on generations of chefs, hoteliers and restaurateurs over the last five decades of her career. With contributions from Neven Maguire, Rachel Allen, Simon Coveney, John Brennan and many other familiar faces.
