What to watch on TV tonight: Monday
DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.
Love Island Australia (3e, 10.05pm)
Tonight’s the big night! Love Island Australia kicks off on 3e. You know the drill. Just as the Brits have been competing in the UK version, the Australians will be coupling up and competing for the chance to win a massive cash prize for falling in love on TV. We can’t wait.
Homeless and Working: Channel 4 Dispatches (Channel 4, 8pm)
Tonight, the current affairs series takes a look at two homeless hostels in London, where reporter Datshiane Navanayagam meets the increasing population of homeless people who, despite working full-time, find themselves unable to pay private rent in the city. Datshiane, who has experienced homelessness herself, uncovers how the low-wage economy based on zero hour contracts is leaving people with no alternative other than to sleep on the streets.
Jackie: A Tale of Two Sisters (RTÉ One, 10.40pm)
A look at both Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis – a figure of high fashion and tragedy, even decades after her death and time in the spotlight – and her younger sister Lee Radziwell (formerly known as Princess Caroline Lee Radziwill). This documentary examines how Lee and Jacqueline lived lives that were entwined through rivalry and resentment, love and loss.
Everybody’s talking about… The return of Love Island’s lie detector.
Last night, Love Island’s preview for tonight mentioned a lie detector test. We’ve been waiting for this for weeks. It’s about bloody time.
