Ariana Grande is taking a break from social media after Pete Davidson deleted his Instagram

The pair of them have had enough of online drama.

IN THE BRIEF amount of time Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson have been together, the pair of them have managed to make headlines pretty consistently, for various reasons.

Within weeks of announcing their relationship, they were getting tattoos for each other and you know, getting engaged. Although they seem very happy together, not all Ariana Grande fans are feeling Pete and Ariana’s relationship.

On the 22nd of July, Ariana posted a photograph of her grandfather who passed away from cancer two years ago.

She captioned the photo ‘miss n love u forever my best friend #4years’.

Pete replied “omg what a cutie”, which seems harmless enough, but fans were furious. They began to comment “Not the time, not the place” etc., assuming that Pete was talking about Ariana (which would have been fairly inappropriate).

The SNL star responded by saying “Are you guys all insane? I was talking about how cute her grandpa is. What’s wrong with that? You guys will really look for anything to attack people. It’s sad.”

After this, it seems the pair of them got fed up with social media. Pete deleted all of his Instagram posts and uploaded a story saying that he didn’t need the negativity of social media when his “real life is f**king lit“.

And it seems like it is. At a recent comedy show, Pete told the audience that he proposed to Ariana Grande while he was stoned.

Shortly after Pete wiped his Instagram, Ariana Grande told a fan that she’s going to take a break from social media too.

She said she’s going to “take a breather from Twitter and Instagram for a little. Just sometimes can’t help but bump into some negative shit that can really bum you out and it’s not worth it, honestly.”

In another tweet, Grande explained that she’s also avoiding heavy promotion of her new album Sweetener because promoting her previous records “destroyed her mental health.”

[Promoting] was horrible for me. I don’t remember much about those years of my life and am doing so much better now. Career-wise and health-wise. Stop coming for me and my team when I’ve never been better literally in any department.

If there’s any celebrity that truly deserves a break, it’s Ariana Grande.
