What to watch on TV tonight: Thursday
DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.
WWI: The Final Hours (BBC Two, 9pm)
Marking the 100 year anniversary of the 8th of November, 1918, this documentary looks at the meeting of an Englishman, a Frenchman and a German who met in secret on train carriage in a forest near Paris. After spending three days together, they managed to bring peace to Europe and bring an end to four long and brutal years of deadly war. This programme follows the meeting and its consequences, not only for the individuals on the train, but the countries they represented. This is the story of the end of one World War and the beginning of another.
Women on the Verge (RTÉ 2, 9.30pm)
The series continues tonight, with Laura reacting badly to criticism from Kieran at a team-building event. As a result, she decides to pull a sickie. Alison and Martin head for a fertility consultation and they discover that Martin has got a pretty low sperm count.
Annie: Out of the Ashes (Virgin Media Two, 9pm)
A young woman called Annie has grown up believing that her facial scarring is the result of her mother trying to kill her by setting fire to the caravan in which Annie was sleeping. Could she have been driven by a fear of being ostracised, having had an affair and given birth to a mixed-race baby? Annie was adopted, and 30 years later she wants to investigate her past. Adopted by a white family, she has felt her identity was a ‘blur’ as she’s part Afro-Carribbean, part Traveller and part white. She’s desperate to understand her past and why her mother tried to kill her.
Everybody’s talking about… That awkward uniform choice on The Apprentice…
