IT SEEMS AS though Laura Whitmore has been on TV for eternity, but in reality, the 33-year-old’s career on MTV News only began in 2008.
After ten years of modelling and presenting live TV, Whitmore’s taking her career in a new direction, as she’s been announced as part of BBC Radio’s festive schedule, which looks pretty exciting this year.
So far, BBC have given Angelina Jolie a guest-editing position on Radio 4′s Today programme, and are letting Take That take control of Radio 2, before celebrating their 30th anniversary with a two-hour show on Christmas Day. Angelina Jolie’s using her platform to invite refugees and survivors of global conflict onto the show to discuss the crises and possible solutions. You can read more about the lineup here.

On the 23rd of December, Laura Whitmore will explore faith in the 21st century in an hour-long feature for BBC Radio 5 called What to Believe. Speaking of her upbringing as a Roman Catholic, Laura said that it’s still with her in some ways, like how she “keeps a bottle of holy water” on her dressing table. However, Whitmore asks if she’s “losing her religion” and points to surveys of people in her age group who are “the least religious members of all society”.
In her documentary, Laura hopes to find out what exactly young people believe in, and “If it’s not religion, what is it?”
