David Walliams was completely baffled when the Late Late audience received a loaf of bread as a prize

OVER THE YEARS, we’ve seen some strange prizes handed out for “everyone in the audience” on RTÉ’s Late Late Show.
To an Irish viewer, it probably seems quite fitting that after the show featured Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, everybody in the audience was handed out a loaf of brown bread and a few Aldi vouchers. However, David Walliams, one of the other guests on last night’s show, was really confused about what was going on.
In fairness, what would the outside world think if they knew that Ireland’s most popular and successful late night talk-show gave loaves of bread to their guests as a prize without batting an eye or thinking anything strange of it?
Just before Ryan Tubridy was about to say the famous line, “One for everybody in the audience…” David interrupted and incredulously asked, “A loaf of bread?!”
Most of David’s annoyance was at the fact the loaf of bread was offered as the top prize, after his book was given away, but still…
