Lush's new environmentally-friendly lipsticks are simple but genius

And super affordable too.

WHILE WE ARE all well aware of the many reasons we should be minimising the amount of plastic we use, it can be difficult to find ways around it.

Either the products simply aren’t accessible to you, or they are sold outside of a price range that you can afford.

Thankfully, however, more and more high street brands are coming to the rescue, making environmentally-friendly purchases increasingly easy to get our hands on.

And there is one product in particular that has caught my eye.

Lush is a brand that has always been linked with the fight against animal testing, creating vegan-friendly products and selling them in eco-friendly packaging, and their latest release has ticked all of those boxes.

The new Naked Lipsticks are a simply genius product that can be bought in a recyclable packaging (€16.95) or without in the form of their naked refills.

The refills (€10.95) are coated in wax layer (kind of like a Babybel) that is removed before the product can be used.

The best bit, though, is that you can then insert the refills into any empty lipstick bullets you might have lying around.

Lush says that one billion lipstick containers end up in landfill every single year so making the change to products like this can make a huge difference.

But it’s not just a gimmick – it’s a seriously good product too.

The lipsticks are incredibly hydrating thanks to an ingredients list that includes orange peel wax, organic jojoba oil and broccoli seed oil.

The lipstick also comes in 40 different shades, all fitting into their three colour groups – nudes, reds and greiges.

The release comes just a few months after the successful launch of their new solid foundation which boasts an impressive 40 shades and plastic-free packaging for €22.95.

Also in the naked makeup range are glow stick highlighters and 10 shades of their new concealer trix sticks (€14.95).
