MILEY CYRUS HAS been in the public eye for a long time.
Over the last ten years in particular, we’ve witnessed so many twists and turns in her life and public persona. She grew from Hannah Montana to a Wrecking Ball, before calming down a bit and returning to her roots. One thing that has more or less been constant over the last ten years is her relationship with Liam Hemsworth.
The pair of them met in June 2009, on the set of The Last Song when they were both in their late teens. By November 2009, Miley was calling Liam her best friend in interviews and in March 2010 they confirmed that they were a couple by appearing at the Oscars together. Things were on and off for the last few years, but between breakups they got engaged twice (first time round in 2012 and again in 2016).
Since the 2016 engagement, the pair of them having been going pretty strong. So strong, in fact, that they have finally tied the knot – even though it’s public knowledge that Miley doesn’t think getting married is a big deal at all. Sources close to Miley kept telling the press that “The formality of marriage isn’t important!” and that “Their engagement back in 2016 was a symbol of commitment, but it was enough of a symbol for them. Miley has actually said she doesn’t want to get married, despite the engagement. She doesn’t think it makes a relationship better.”
Well, it looks like she changed her mind this weekend anyway.
At a super low-key function (people were wearing jeans and runners) Miley and Liam were photographed cutting a wedding cake and standing near Mr and Mrs balloons.

The photos were uploaded to Instagram by Conrad Jack Carr, a friend of the couple. In one of the photos, Miley’s seen in an off-the-shoulder white dress while Liam’s wearing a tux. There are canapes and little love heart-shaped card holders on the counter, so all signs point to a secret wedding ceremony.

Liam’s celebrity brothers were also in attendance. Here’s a photo of them standing in front of that set of Mr and Mrs balloons we mentioned earlier.

Apparently Miley knew this was coming since March, when ET reported that Miley might have been working on her Pinterest board for the big day. A source had told ET that Miley just wanted a simple ranch wedding, a nod to her country roots.
Miley has come up with all sorts of different wedding plans. She is always creative and thinking of new ideas that will make her experience different. She hasn’t announced anything because she is being very secretive so only their friends will know and at the very last minute. This time they are doing everything their own way.
Well, the event in those Instagram photos seems pretty consistent with what the source suggested. Fans of the couple have been tweeting about how excited and happy they are for Miley and Liam.
