'Kevin, you're not being attacked': Terry Crews weighed in on the Kevin Hart Oscar situation

“You react the way you feel. He feels like he’s being attacked but the truth is: He’s not.”

DESPITE THE FACT that Kevin Hart said that he no longer wants to discuss the gigantic mess he got himself into when he refused to apologise for homophobic comments that jeopardised his chance to host the 2019 Oscars, he’s continuing to talk about it

He kicked off 2019 by going on Ellen, one of the most watched TV shows in the United States, to state that he has apologised over and over again for these comments, and he’s fed up. He told the audience that he’s sick of apologising and vows to never apologise again, because it’s all in the past.

The comedian then suggested that all of the people who were upset by his comments should take a few seconds to Google his apologies, and look back on all of the things he has done for the LGBTQ community since he was first called out on his homophobia in the late noughties. So, people went ahead and looked up these apologies and discovered that he never even apologised in the first place! And as for the evidence of him supporting the LGBTQ community? CNN’s Don Lemon put it simply: “I don’t see any meaningful outreach to the LGBT community.”

Eventually, Kevin’s pal Terry Crews spoke some serious sense about the entire situation on a Buzzfeed News show called AM2DM.

Terry said, “It’s wild because he feels like he’s being attacked.”

He is right to feel the way he feels, I’m not here to tell anybody [how to feel] – that’s like telling someone, “You’re too sensitive.” Y’know what, if you’re sensitive – you feel it. You react the way you feel. He feels like he’s being attacked but the truth is: He’s not. That’s the truth.
The truth is, Kevin, you’re not being attacked. The truth is, you have to just acknowledge what went on and acknowledge the pain of other people. That’s all anybody is asking for. That’s it.
