‘It’s been hard to come up for air.’

ASHLEY ROBERTS, WHO rose to fame as a member of Pussycat Dolls, has taken to Instagram to inform fans and followers that she is mourning the loss of her father, who died unexpectedly last month.

Ashley, who hadn’t posted to her social media platform since March 14, uploaded a childhood photo of herself with her father, and revealed that ‘after a long battle of physical and mental health’, her father took his own life in March.

The 36-year-old, who has participated in numerous reality TV shows in recent years including I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, The Jump and Dancing on Ice, paid tribute to her father in a touching post at the weekend.

With great sadness in my heart, I wanted to share with you that on the 19th of March – after a long battle of physical and mental heath – My father took his own life.

The performer offered an insight into the weeks following her father’s demise, telling fans she has been in a state of shock since his passing.

The past 3.5 weeks I’ve been in a state of shock, confusion, questioning, pain so deep in my guts it’s been hard to come up for air. Feeling like I don’t know how to move forward from here. What am I supposed to do with all this?

Ashley then added that she’s embracing the grief, in the hopes it will help her deal with the tragedy.

For now, I sit here with this pain. Inviting it ALL in.  To teach me, to heal me, to rebuild me.

Ashley has reached out to anyone else familiar with the situation, writing: “If any of you have gone through something similar. I understand and my heart goes out to you.”

The performer’s followers have been vocal in their support, with many sharing insights into their own personal experience of suicide.
