HE’S THE CAT that’s captured the heart of the internet – but it’s an absolute mystery how this Australian cat made it all the way to Northern Ireland last week.
Cats Protection in Armagh said that they found the little guy in the village of Laurelvale last Thursday – and they’ve already named him Ozzie:
Ozzie has a microchip which shows he came from Australia butowners never registered their details. He turned up as a stray at a London vet clinic in 2004. Now he is with us after he was found in Laurelvale!!
They’re currently in the process of searching to find out how Ozzie made it all the way to Northern Ireland, and their original Facebook post has been shared over 600 times.
Described by Cats Protection as a “gentle and affectionate cat”, the search for his owners has taken over social media. Speaking about how Ozzie was found Cats Protection co-ordinator Gillian McMullen said:
I responded to a call from a member of the public who was concerned about a poorly stray cat that had been hanging around her garden for several days. The poor cat was starving but obviously had been cared for in the past because it was wearing a collar.
Gillian finished up her appeal by saying:
We have our paws crossed on solving the mystery of Ozzie our travelling cat!
Good luck with the future, Ozzie. We’re all rooting for you.
The branch is now launching an appeal to solve the mystery. Do you have any information about Ozzie? Please get in touch with Cats Protection’s Armagh Branch at armaghcats@hotmail.co.uk or 0044 7709 483 550.
