Here's why everyone's talking about Azealia Banks ahead of her sold-out Dublin show
FYI, rapper and soap-entrepreneur Azealia Banks is playing in Ireland this week.
With this being her first gig in Ireland since June 2013, The Academy gig sold out almost immediately with fans very excited to see her – and her extensive soap line – in the flesh.
However, it’s safe to say she’s hit a few snags on her travels – the first being to do with said soaps.
Poor Azealz shipped all of her soaps – including fan favourites Bussy Boy and Pussy Pop – to London, and turned to Instagram to see if someone would be up to the task of driving them to Dublin. Easy money, that.

Then, there was the issue on her flight here, when it seemed like she might not even make it to the gig.
Banks bailed on her Aer Lingus flight to Dublin after an incident with several members of staff.
“The lady is like… Asking me some questions,” she said on her Instagram story, referring to a steward. “And since I didn’t have an answer for her she went a couple of seats over and she’s just like staring at me.”
Banks tearfully went on to say that she was “crowded” by staff who “chastised” her like “an animal”.
Banks also said she was confronted by “all these security n*ggas crowding around [me] and treating me like a wild animal”.
“Tried their hardest to get me to say something or do something or freak out,” she said.
After getting off the plane, Banks said: “I’ll probably drive to Dublin or get the ferry or whatever I have to do, you’re not gonna play me”, adding that she would be making a formal complaint to Aer Lingus.
Shortly after, her manager booked her on to a new flight with Ryanair, though she did express confusion as to whether they were the same airline as Aer Lingus.

She then went on to discuss how Kanye West tried to sign her three times.
However, she declined on the basis that the rapper would ‘sell her out’ and would not defend her. As it turns out though, she’s mad to work with Jay Z, but reckons it won’t happen because of “the girls”.
“I was too young to sign to Roc Nation,” she said on her Instagram story. “I was too green. I knew all of my ideas were just going to be sent to Beyoncé or Rihanna.
Interesting. If and when she makes it to Dublin, gig goers look like they’re in for an, eh, experience, to say the least.
