A FEMINIST WRITER was slightly taken aback when she received a letter from the Bank of America addressed to Lisa Is a Slut McIntire.
The 32-year-old from San Francisco received a bemused message from her mother when she discovered the mail offering McIntire a cash-back bonus if she signed up for a visa credit card.
Safe to say, Is A Slut is NOT her actual middle name. Lisa was quick to tweet a photo of the envelope at the Bank in an attempt to find an explanation.
Bank of America replied with a swift apology, but it seems that it mightn’t be their fault at all.
The offer was linked to McIntire’s membership with the Golden Key International Honour Society, a non-profit recognising academic achievement.
The fault is said to be on their side, with representative Melissa Leitzell telling the LA Times that the error “happened on our end, and not with Bank of America”, adding that there is no indication as to why this happened, but it was entered into McIntire’s contact details between 2004 and 2008.
The writer is taking it well anyway, adding in an extra line to her Twitter bio.
No harm done in the romance department either.
Hmm.
