Basejumper Jeb Corliss injured after crashing into Table Mountain

The stuntman known for his incredible stunts broke both legs in the crash.

BASE JUMPING DAREDEVIL Jeb Corliss has been seriously injured in an accident while undertaking a stunt over South Africa’s Table Mountain.

Corliss sustained two broken legs after falling over 200 feet and crashing into the mountain during the jump.

BusinessInsider reports that Corliss was being filmed for HBO when the accident occurred. It’s not clear yet what went wrong with his jump, but he did manage to use his emergency parachute during his fall.

Corliss is wearing black in this video, and the second person involved in the jump landed safely:

On his website, Corliss says he has made over 1,000 jumps including at the Golden Gate Bridge, Eiffel Tower and the Petronas Towers in Malaysia.

Last year, Corliss pulled off this particularly daring stunt, jumping out of a helicopter in his special ‘wingsuit’ before successfully gliding through a narrow gap in China’s Tianmen Mountain:
