BBC sent its first tweet in six years and people were decidedly underwhelmed by it

SIX YEARS AGO, the BBC set up its Twitter account @BBC.

But for six long years, the account lay dormant, although it did rack up over 294,000 followers during that period.

People were at the edge of their seats wondering what the broadcaster’s first tweet would be.

Today that all ended when the BBC tweeted this.

The tweet left many feeling underwhelmed.

After all, think of the meetings that were had about this inaugural tweet.

And that’s what they decided on.

Six years.

Elsewhere, there was spot of dodgy banter between BBC and BBC Wales

GUYS.

Some felt that they wasted a clear opportunity.

This guy put it to them straight.

And so did this guy.

But the broadcaster has refused to address or acknowledge either.

Instead, they sent their second tweet, which was worse than the first

Yawn.

Try harder next time, guys.
