The Sunflower in Templeogue is officially home to the 'best spice bag in Ireland'
ONE OF THE most competitive categories at tonight’s Just Eat National Takeaway Awards was Ireland’s Best Spicebag.
Among those in contention for the prestigious title were Kung Fu in Carlow, Food Inn on Ballyfermot Road, Foo Lok in Blanchardstown, Ly Garden in Tallaght and Sunflower in Templeogue.
And the winner was…
Sunflower in Templeogue!
Which is only fitting seeing as they are officially regarded as the inventors of the spice bag
A few months ago, RTÉ Radio 1 reporter Liam Geraghty conducted an investigation into the origins of the spice bag and concluded that Sunflower in Templeogue was the true orginator of the Dublin delicacy.
So what makes the Sunflower spice bag so good?
“Unreal,” says Karen.
