I had to catch myself, because when I saw that #CynthiaNixon was running for governor of New York, I was like, “Well, of course she is! She’s a lauded civil rights attorney who’s at the top of her field!” #NotMirandaIRL

#CynthiaNixon already knows what you’re gonna say about her running for governor. She knows what memes you’re gonna make. She knows why you think she’s unqualified & unexperienced. She knows what homophobic, sexist, Hollywoodish names you’ll call her. But she’s running anyway.
Cynthia Nixon is running for governor. Naturally, you may want to question what experience she really has in governing. As a gay man I can assure you that all lesbians are qualified to do literally every job. They are the most prepared humans on the planet.
And finally, a tweet to recognise that Nixon campaigned actively for same-sex marriage and that she’s been an outspoken advocate for women’s health relating to breast cancer (which she previously had) and reproductive health (through working with Planned Parenthood and penning an essay for Time magazine on a women’s right to choose and her mother’s abortion)
I get the Miranda jokes, but girlfriend has been doing the hard work and activism for years now. She deserves to be taken seriously.
