The best reactions to Miranda from Sex and the City running for Governor

If she loses can we get a third Sex and the City movie?!

So yesterday Cynthia Nixon, aka Miranda Hobbes from Sex and the City, announced that she will be campaigning for the democratic nomination for New York Governor.

As one of the best known television characters of the past 25 years, social media naturally exploded with reactions that the actress turned activist was running…

First there was the fear over why she was trending…

And people got a friendly reminder that they badly needed before they lost the run of themselves

Which, of course, was completely ignored

The inevitable pseudo-deep Carrie columnist memes were making an appearance

And not everyone was excited about another celebrity candidate

However, no Sex and the City box set? No opinion, please!

Contraceptive use would soar if this pun became a legit policy

Look, you can’t ignore the fact that one time Oprah gave away 276 cars to everyone in her audience. You just can’t.

But, Nixon, you go girl! Nolite te bastardes carborundorum!

And some Sex and the City fans had their dreams die

Yea, but no, they just weren’t as good as the show

Her promise to fix the subways was a huge talking point on twitter

Apparently the subways are so bad that New Yorkers are down for *whoever* will step up and fix them

If New York’s subway is this much of a hot mess, then this makes me very worried for the hot mess that will be Metro North…

More subway tweets!?

Okay, clearly v useful to know that if you wana be treated like a local in New York, you need to reference how shite the subway is…

I couldn’t help but wonder….will Avocado Toast sprinkled with chili flakes be her running mate?

 This sweeping assertion..

Which was quickly proved to be true!

However, this shocking truth would make you stop in your tracks and reconsider…

And finally, a tweet to recognise that Nixon campaigned actively for same-sex marriage and that she’s been an outspoken advocate for women’s health relating to breast cancer (which she previously had) and reproductive health (through working with Planned Parenthood and penning an essay for Time magazine on a women’s right to choose and her mother’s abortion)

So even if she is a celebrity, she is VASTLY more qualified than Donald J Trump and Arnold Schwarzenegger and deserves a break

Except for some of the outfits she wore on SATC…
