Bieber: Abortion is wrong, and homosexuality is a choice

The 16-year-old Canadian überstar tells Rolling Stone that abortion was “like killing a baby” and being gay is a “choice”.

16-YEAR-OLD Canadian pop superstar Justin Bieber has shared his belief that homosexuality is “a choice” and that abortion, under normal circumstances, is immoral.

Interviewed in the forthcoming issue of Rolling Stone magazine, copies of which have been leaked online, Bieber was asked for his views on homosexuality, and said: “It’s everyone own decision to do that.”

He added, however; “It doesn’t affect me and shouldn’t affect anyone else.”

Later asked for his opinion on abortion, he offered: “I really don’t believe in abortion. It’s like killing a baby?” Asked if that position remained unchanged in cases of rape, original reports suggested he said:

Um. Well, I think that’s really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I guess I haven’t been in that position, so I wouldn’t be able to judge that.

Rolling Stone has corrected that interpretation of his words, however, adding a qualifier to read as follows:

Um. Well, I think that’s really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I don’t know how that would be a reason. I guess I haven’t been in that position, so I wouldn’t be able to judge that.

The Rolling Stone interviewer who penned the interview, Vanessa Grigoriadis, has been forced to defend her questioning tactics, after PopEater reported that Bieber had been asked the controversial questions about sexuality while his handlers were absent.

It suggested that the questions were put to Bieber while he was driving Grigoriadis around Atlanta in his Range Rover – when his public relations team would not have been able to intervene and stop Bieber from answering them.

The singer also indicated that he was not in a rush to lose his virginity, sharing his belief that “you should just wait for the person you’re… in love with.”

MTV notes, though, that the singer was spotted in a Los Angeles outlet of Victoria’a Secret on Valentine’s Day, where he spent thousands on underwear which may have been a gift for his rumoured girlfriend, Disney actress Selena Gomez.

Bieber’s video for ‘Baby’, his biggest worldwide hit, remains the most-viewed video of all time on YouTube – while, ironically, also being the most ‘disliked’ video on the site, having accrued almost a million ‘thumbs-down’ negative reviews.
