It literally rained rocks in Italy, and here's a video

Not exactly a grand soft day.

THERE’S RAIN. AND then there’s rain made of pieces of black stone.

Following the eruption of Mount Etna last week, a large cloud of airborne volcanic ash travelled for miles before reaching the tip of Sicily and Calabria (the ‘toe’ of Italy’s boot).

There, it fell to the ground – forming a ‘rain’ made of fragments of black stone.

This video taken by Turi Scandurra shows residents using umbrellas to keep themselves stone-free, and the size of the stones raining down. OUCH.
