Rapper B.o.B is raising money to buy satellites to prove that Earth is actually flat
YOU MAY NOT remember, but seven years ago B.o.B appeared out of nowhere and had two very popular songs. One was Airplanes ft. Hayley Williams and the other was Nothin’ On You feat. Bruno Mars.
Since then, he’s been pretty much unheard of outside of America. For the last seven years, he has used this downtime to philosophise about the Earth’s true form. He believes it’s flat and isn’t ashamed to say it.
In tweets which have since been deleted, he told his followers “A lot of people are turned off by the phrase ‘flat earth’… but there’s no way u can see all the evidence and not know… grow up’ [sic].
He went as far as taking a photo on a mountain/hill to prove his theory that there is no curve on the planet’s horizon.
Whoops!
We couldn't find this Tweet
Despite having a song called ‘Airplanes’, he has yet to acknowledge the visibile curve you can see while flying.
A fan shut down his theory about the 16 mile gap between the cities, explaining that ’16 miles is 0.06% of the earth’s circumference. You can’t expect to see the curvature of earth in that distance.’
Anyone who attempted to present him with evidence that the planet is in fact a sphere was shot down. One user asked why the edge had yet to be discovered in 2017 if it existed, to which he replied “Have u been to the edge? or is that what your science book told you?”
Before we get onto the satellites that he’s raising money for, surely it would make more sense in terms of finance for him to just buy a boat and sail to the ‘edge’ of the Earth.
The day he originally shared his theory was January 2016. Unsatisfied with the reaction from his followers, he wrote “Well, at least ppl are better at insulting me than they are at thinking”.
Last night, he launched a GoFundMe account to crowdfund a satellite.
In a video explaining what he wants to do, he introduces himself by saying “What’s up y’all, it’s Flat Earth Bob here.”
This idea was inspired by a Twitter user offering a solution for flat-earthers.
B.o.B shared Tim Pastoor’s tweet to his profile, adding “Actually, that’s a great idea.”
At present, the rapper has raised $646 of his $200,000 goal. The reaction on the GoFundMe page is a bit mixed. One comment pointed out that he incorrectly used the word orbit:

However, one person donated $50 to B.o.B’s cause, writing:
All of the things you could spend $50 on and you decide to donate it to proving the Earth is flat.
