Anne Hathaway pre-empitvely shut down body-shamers about her weight gain
BEATING THE PAPARAZZI and celebrity body-commentators at their own game is specialty of Anne Hathaway.
In January 2016, she posted an Instagram snap of her 7 month pregnant body after spying paparazzi sneakily taking photos of her on a beach.
Anne captioned the photo, explaining why she had posted an uncharacteristically staged beach photo:
A lot of pregnant women can be apprehensive with their body changing beyond recognition, as in general women are judged on their appearance more than men.
For women whose careers require and demand that you are teeny-tiny, the anxiety associated being a larger size must be hard to overcome, whether they are pregnant or not. Female celebrities are subjected to intense scrutiny by media who use unflattering photographs alongside blunt and critical headlines.
But Anne knows that the only way to beat them, is to play them at their own game. And Anne is good at this game.
After a hiatus which saw her star in only 3 films since 2015 and give birth to her son in March 2016, Anne Hathaway is back and this time, there’s more of her to love…or hate (she essentially is the human version of pineapple on pizza).

Anne uploaded a time-lapsed Instagram video of her working out in a gym, where she boldly beat body shamers to the punchline by calling out her own changed body.
The paparazzi must be raging that she stole their thunder.
