Book of blank pages becomes surprise Amazon bestseller

The online retailer sells out of the novelty notebook, masquerading as an expose on what men worry about – other than sex.

ONLINE BOOKSELLER AMAZON has completely sold out of a book that purports to expose the things men worry about, other than sex – a book full of totally empty pages.

The 200-page book, “written” by Sheridan Simove, is a notebook with a cover style usually used for pop-psychology books – an illusion assisted by its name, ‘What Every Man Thinks About Apart From Sex‘.

Intended as a modest novelty gift, the book has hit record popularity thanks to a heavy of heavy publicity from students’ unions across Britain – whose members have taken to using it as a college notebook.

Author Simove, 39 – who, in keeping in the book’s tongue-in-cheek marketing, referred to herself as ‘professor’ on its cover – told the Daily Telegraph that the book was “the result of 39 years of painstaking research and practical study”.

She added:

It is very gratifying to see my book outselling many other academic works whose authors claim to have worked even harder than I to break new ground and further the extent of human knowledge.

Aside from academic works, the book is also outselling regular high-sellers Harry Potter and the Da Vinci Code – even though Amazon clearly marks the book as being entirely blank inside.

Among the reviews on Amazon.co.uk:

Don’t miss the interesting twist in the last chapter!

I don’t think I’ve read a more concise but to the point book in my life. Professor Simove understands the mind so much that he’s able to explain it in one simple read. Yes, I read it in one session!

Great book from one of the leading Authors in the field. From the first page I was gripped by the insight and expert knowledge [...]
In summary it makes all other books on this subject seem empty.

Simove said she would capitalise on the success of the book by undertaking a PhD in the university of life, with her findings to be published in a decade.

There is no word on whether an e-book will be made available.
