Little boy asked to leave restaurant for wearing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle t-shirt

No amount of turtle power can change the dress code.

A FOUR-YEAR-OLD BOY was asked to leave a restaurant in Atlanta because his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles t-shirt violated the dress code.

Little Lewis Roberts went to the Tavern at Phipps with his parents, but when they tried to get some lunch, he was asked to leave for not adhering to the ‘Gentlemen’s dress code’ which bans sleeveless shirts. Roberts’ parents told the hostess that he was just four, but they were told that they still had to leave. She was backed up by the manager, who said the code applied to all ages.

Even those wearing sweet cartoon t-shirts.

Totally not radical.

A spokesperson for the restaurant later issued a statement, telling 11 Alive that the manager was in the wrong.

Rule does not apply for children and ladies, for gentleman only. It was an embarrassing misunderstanding on our part. She’s a manager in training who had a gross misunderstanding of our policy. We apologize and are reaching out to the family.

Lewis and his family have accepted the apology and plan to go back. For pizza, we assume.
