This little boy was caught secretly hugging his neighbour's dog after his own passed away

Ah here. Tissues, please.

LAST WEEK, HOLLIE Breaux Mallet from Louisiana posted this footage from her home security camera on Facebook.

In the video, you can see a little boy throwing down his bike and running into the garage to give Mallet’s dog a quick hug, before dashing back out again. Mallet wrote:

Anyone know who this sweet little boy is? Every now and then when he rides his bike he will quickly come and love on my dog or play fetch real quick, but always leaves like he doesn’t know if he should be here! I’d like to tell him he’s welcome to stay and play, she loves the attention!

The video was shared over 11,000 times and eventually found its way to the boy’s mother – she revealed the serial dog-hugger was nine-year-old Josh Breaux.

Josh’s mother told Mallet over Facebook:

Josh talks about your dog all the time! Every time we pass he looks to see if she was sitting where he could see her. Just didn’t know he was doing things like this.

Breaux explained to ABC News that the family dog passed away last year, and they weren’t quite ready to get another one yet.

Mallet finally met Josh last week, and told him he was more than welcome to play and cuddle with her dog in the meantime.

“He’s the sweetest little boy. It’s a win-win. They both get a friend.”

*sniff* Who’s chopping onions?
