A bride and groom had a lovely impromptu first dance on Shop Street in Galway
THE WEATHER MIGHT have turned to shite around the country in the last day or so, but last weekend Ireland was still basking in relatively decent mid-April temperatures.
And Galway’s Shop Street on Friday was bathed in sunshine.
As the Dermot and Dave show on Today FM discovered, Kate Divilly and Declan Tannam were lucky enough to be getting married in the city centre. As the wedding party made their way through town to return to the hotel a band was busking, as usual, in the middle of the street.
So they had an impromptu first dance there and then
Glorious.
Speaking to Dermot and Dave this morning, chief bridesmaid Aoife Doyle gave a blow-by-blow account of what happened:

It was then that they came across the band:
They had quite the circle around them when the whole wedding party joined in too

What a memorable first dance.
Aoife told Dermot and Dave that the tourists were suitably impressed:
It wouldn’t be a regular occurrence now – but you’re liable to see anything on Shop Street on a fine Friday afternoon.
