Episode 5 hits our screens this evening, so if you haven’t started watching it by now then you might just want to get on it. Here’s why:

If you weren’t watching it you were tweeting about it.
If you weren’t tweeting about it you were reading about it.
And if you weren’t reading about it you were most definitely thinking about it.
The smash hit drama – which tells the tale of the hunt for a young boy’s killer – is attracting quite a bit of attention around the globe, and just so happens to be airing on TV3 at the moment.
Episode 5 hits our screens this evening, so if you haven’t started watching it by now then you might just want to get on it. Here’s why:
There’s a brilliant mystery at the heart of it.
Young Danny Latimer’s body was found at the bottom of the cliffs on Broadchurch beach. Nobody knows if he fell or was pushed, but the hunt for his killer brings the tiny town to its knees.
Everyone’s a suspect in this utterly brilliant whodunit, and you’re never quite sure who to believe.
David Tennant gives one of his best performances.
The Doctor Who star chews up that scenery with ease as cantankerous yet conflicted Detective Inspector Alec Hardy.
Did we mention the fact that he sports an utterly fantastic beard while doing so?
Aye aye, Captain.
Yer wan from Peep Show is in it.
All hail Olivia Colman.
In fact, it’s jam packed with yer mans and yer wans from the things.
Like this fella from Doctor Who, aka Arthur Darvill, aka Amy Pond’s Rory.
This lass from Birds of A Feather, aka Pauline Quirke.
And Argus Filch from Harry Potter, in a very VERY different role.
Hardy and Miller give Sherlock and Watson a run for their money.
This pair are a televisual detective team to be reckoned with, even if they don’t seem to be able to work together.
AT ALL.
So much reluctant ‘bromance’, so little time.
There is an actual ending.
Which Graham Norton revealed on The Graham Norton Show recently. Whoops.
It’s ok though, you probably didn’t even notice.
If you’re still brimming with ‘Amber anger’ Broadchurch will hopefully ease your pain by episode 8.
It’s SO good that they want to remake/destroy it in the USA.
Breaking Bad’s Anna Gunn will take on Olivia Colman’s role, while the talented Mr Tennant takes DI Hardy Stateside for a bit of a name change.
We’re hoping that the pair will help keep things on track.
In the meantime, you catch Broadchurch on TV3 every Wednesday night from 9pm.
