STARS OF THE STAGE and screen have been paying tribute to the late Robin Williams in their droves, but this dedication is particularly sweet.
At the end of Tuesday night’s performance of Aladdin on Broadway, actor James Iglehart (who plays the Genie, a role Williams originated in the Disney movie) dedicated a special rendition of Friend Like Me to the comedian.

The audience had been supplied with song lyrics in their programmes so they could sing along too – watch the performance here.
Oh. :(
According to the Associated Press, the lights on the marquees of Broadway theatres were dimmed in remembrance of the actor for one minute at 7:45pm last night.
Though he was most well-known for his television and film roles, Williams performed on Broadway numerous times – he had his own Live on Broadway stand-up show in 2002 and more recently starred in the play Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo.
