TALLER THAN AVERAGE, there have been certain styles of shoe I’ve avoided as I feared they would draw attention to the fact my feet aren’t a size five… or six… or seven… or… sure look, we’ll say no more about it.

Anyway, despite the fact I loved the aesthetic, brogues happened to be one of these styles.

Considering my particular size and their nod to traditional masculine tailoring, I shied away from wearing them on the off-chance it might look like myself and my father shared a shoe stash.

Thankfully, after making the leap, I got over this, and the comfort meant I never looked back.
