IT’S NO SECRET that Buckfast tonic wine is beloved of people all over the UK and Ireland. This love has produced several interesting cocktails, from the Buckfast mojito:

To the ‘Tonic Boom’ which sounds like a lot, frankly:

This morning, the official Buckfast Twitter account unleashed a Christmassy cocktail called the Velvet Elvis, or as we’d prefer to call it, the Buckfast bellini.

A Velvet Elvis is more commonly made with Jack Daniel’s, raspberry liquer, and 7Up, but Buckfast’s version requires much less work.

Just pour a glass of prosecco or cava, chuck in a thimbleful of Buckfast, and you’ve got yourself a nice wee drink for Christmas day.

It would be a delicious accompaniment your Buckfast Christmas pudding (yep, that exists too), we’d imagine. Merry Buckmas!
