Schoolgirl suspended after shaving head in support of friend with cancer
A GIRL FROM Colorado who shaved her head to support a friend with cancer has been suspended from school.
Kamryn Renfro cut off all her hair when her friend Delaney Clements went bald as a result of cancer treatment.
She was told by her school that she had violated the dress code and was told she wasn’t allowed to attend classes.
The school, Caprock Academy, later said that she could return, but the school’s board of directors is expected to discuss her situation at a meeting Tuesday evening.

The local Grand Junction newspaper The Daily Sentinel reports that the school board’s chairwoman says the school’s the dress code is designed to promote uniformity and a non-distracting environment.
She said exceptions can be made under extraordinary circumstances. The board will decide whether they should make an exception in this case.
