Eight hospitalised after accidentally eating cannabis birthday cake
EIGHT PEOPLE HAVE been hospitalised in northern Spain after eating a cake made with cannabis butter.
The people were attending a birthday party for two brothers in a bar in Oviedo when they began to feel unwell after tucking into some cake made by the mother of one of the guests.
The Local reports that doctors at a nearby hospital contacted police when they realised that the patients were stoned.
The baker of the cake admitted to using the unusual ingredient, while the guest who brought the cake to the party was determined to be in “no fit state to be interrogated”, presumably after helping themselves to a couple of slices.
Metro.co.uk reports that none of the guests suffered any lasting illness. The bar has been closed pending an investigation.
