THE LABOUR PARTY has big plans for its general election campaign.
Unfortunately it seems campaigners have been stopped in their tracks this morning after one of their Eamon Gilmore-emblazoned cars was clamped outside the party’s campaign office in central Dublin.
When asked about the reaction to the restricting turn in events, a campaign staff member told TheJournal.ie: “Ooops.”
So, we asked our readers to take part in a caption competition. On top of some of the zingers in the comments below, here are some we’ve gleaned from Facebook:
- “It appears that Vincent Brown has pulled some strings in order to keep Joan Burton from getting near the TV3 studios again.” (Terry O’Dowd)
- “That’s what the mayor in the Wire did to his competitors’ campaign offices…” (Trevor J Coonan)
- “The Empire Strikes Back” (Graham Ó Maonaigh)
- “Typical Greens. Will go to any lengths to reduce carbon emissions.” (Niall Shanahan)
- “The gilforce is not strong in this one.” (Kirsten Gordon)
- “It’s really not a bother. We’ve a horse outside.” (Siobhán Burke)
