When Jake Ostrowski mentioned to his mother how much he would miss their dog Jesse after he leaves for university in autumn, she got an idea.

The present went viral after Jake tweeted a picture of it earlier this week – and people have been deeply inspired to create their own.

“It was probably the best gift I’ve ever received,” he told New York Magazine.

I’ve had tons of people quoting the tweet saying that they’re gonna do this now or telling their own moms to take note.
