Carrie Fisher is in intensive care with her dog by her side after a heart attack on a flight
ACTRESS AND WRITER Carrie Fisher is said to be in a stable condition in a Los Angeles hospital after a heart attack.
Fisher was on board a flight from London to LA when she went into cardiac arrest. The plane was met by emergency services and provided “advanced medical life support and transported the patient to a local area hospital”.
Sixty-year-old Fisher had been in London filming the third season of Catastrophe with Rob Delaney and Sharon Horgan (she plays Delaney’s mother in the series). She had also filmed an episode of The Graham Norton Show and done some promotion for her most recent book The Princess Diarist.
Fisher’s Star Wars co-stars Mark Hamill and Peter Mayhew are among the people sending her well wishes.
TMZ reports that Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd has visited her mother at the UCLA Medical Centre and that she arrived with Fisher’s dog Gary, who was with her on the flight and travels everywhere with her.
