Twitter was so emotional after Catherine Corless' win at the People of the Year Awards last night
LAST NIGHT, HUNDREDS gathered at Dublin’s Mansion House to honour those nominated at the annual Rehab People of the Year Awards.

The ceremony, which was broadcast on RTÉ One, is held every year to acknowledge individuals who have displayed bravery and determination in the face of adversity.
In the aftermath of the ceremony, Twitter was awash with comments which paid tribute to Catherine Corless – the amateur historian responsible for uncovering the secretive burial of hundreds of infants at Mother and Baby Home in Tuam, Co Galway.

Catherine, who received a standing ovation after being recognised for her efforts on behalf of survivors and family members, was commended on Twitter by viewers, who were bowled over by the emotion of the evening.
