A look behind the scenes at the Ceiliúradh concert in London
ON THURSDAY NIGHT a special celebration of Irish music and creativity took place in London’s Albert Hall, to mark the State Visit of President Michael D Higgins.
Glen Hansard, The Gloaming, Imelda May, Villagers/Conor O’Brien, Fiona Shaw, Elvis Costello, Oliva O’Leary, Paul Brady and Donal Lunny were among those performing on the night.
Now RTÉ has released this behind-the-scenes video of the preparations that went into the celebration, filmed by Myles O’Reilly.
The video is soundtracked by Glen Hansard leading the ensemble in a rendition of The Parting Glass.
You can watch the entire concert over on the RTÉ Player
