Oscar winner Hillary Swank, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun singer Cyndi Lauper and Law and Order star Mariska Hargitay were among those taking part in parades to usher in Mardi Gras in the wee hours of this morning.
Bret Michaels – the bandana-wearing Poison frontman – joined Lauper as the celebrity riders in Orpheus, the parade club founded in 1993 by New Orleans native actor and crooner Harry Connick Jr.
Parties were held through the night after the parades drew to a close. The final parades march through the city after dawn this morning.
