Update: We’re told the Chelsea Drugstore will open in mid-October.

DUBLIN’S ‘HIPSTER TRIANGLE’ is getting a ‘bohemian and arty’ new bar – owned  by the people behind The Market Bar.

Called the Chelsea Drugstore, the new venue will be in the shopfront that used to be the Oriental Emporium on George’s Street.

It is currently being refitted, but social accounts have shared some photos of progress.

The original Chelsea Drugstore was a high-end shopping mall in 1960s London, used as a location in Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange and namechecked in the Rolling Stones song You Can’t Always Get What You Want.

According to Publin, the Chelsea Drugstore was originally slated to open in March. However, the unit is only now being refitted. DailyEdge.ie has reached out to the owners for more details.

This article has been amended to reflect the fact that Jay Bourke no longer has any involvement in the Market Bar.
